- James Madison will make its first road trip of the season when the Dukes travel to Charlottesville to face in-state foe Virginia. Tip is set for 7 p.m. with the game broadcast live on ACC Network Extra.Â
- Despite a fierce third-quarter charge, the Dukes were unable to complete the second half comeback and dropped a tough 80-64 decision to Buffalo in the Atlantic Union Bank Center on Monday evening.

SCOUTING THE CAVALIERS
- Virginia is coming off a tight 54-51 loss to East Carolina on Sunday night to drop to 0-2 on the season.
- Meg Jefferson led the way for the Cavaliers, posting 16 points on an efficient 7-of-9 shooting with a team-high eight rebounds and a steal. Amandine Toi added 12 points and four rebounds.
- Virginia was selected to finish 15th in the Atlantic Coast Conference in a vote by the league coaches.
SERIES HISTORY
- Wednesday's contest will be the 26th meeting between the Dukes and Cavaliers.Â
- In Charlottesville, Virginia controls the advantage with an 11-2 record, winning the last three games played at John Paul Jones Arena. Additionally, the Cavaliers hold the overall series lead at 16-9.Â
- In the last meeting on Nov. 30, 2019, JMU dropped a heartbreaking 55-49 decision to Virginia in the first game of the Cavalier Classic. The Dukes battled back after a daunting first period to take the lead at the end of the third but Virginia closed out the game strong to earn the victory. Then-senior Kamiah Smalls led the charge with 16 points, knocking down three treys, five rebounds, one assist and a steal.
