- Drexel will enter Sunday's matchup in Harrisonburg with a 7-5 (2-3 CAA) mark on the 2020-21 season, having lost a pair of contests at College of Charleston before winning two of three against William & Mary across the last two weekends.
- Junior Camren Wynter and senior James Butler have lived up to their First Team Preseason All-CAA plaudits in the first 12 games of the year, leading the way for the Dragons with 16.8ppg and 14.4ppg, respectively. Wynter adds a league-leading 5.8apg, while Butler grabs 9.7 boards per contest with the help of four double-doubles already in 2020-21.
SERIES HISTORY
- Drexel has won five of the last six meetings between the two teams, pushing its advantage in the all-time series between the teams to 23-15 entering the 2020-21 season, though the Dukes still hold a 9-8 edge in games played in Harrisonburg.
- Last year's contest in Harrisonburg saw then-junior Matt Lewis rack up 24 points in a 78-71 JMU loss on Jan. 11, 2020, while then-freshman Michael Christmas added 12 points and six boards in the loss.
