Dukes Return to Coaches Poll at No. 18

HARRISONBURG, Va. – The James Madison men's soccer team has returned to the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 poll, earning the No. 18 spot, as announced on Tuesday afternoon.
The Dukes are riding a four-match winning streak that has them sitting at 8-2 overall and 3-0 in Colonial Athletic Association play to sit tied for first with Hofstra in the league standings at nine points each with a game in hand. A win against Mount St. Mary's in their next match will have the Dukes off to their best start through 11 matches since the 2004 team started 10-0-1.
JMU is coming off a week that saw them come from behind and take down George Washington, 3-2. Down 2-0 at halftime, forward Luca Erhardt scored his fifth and sixth goals of the season to tie the match at two with over 21 minutes left. Connor Hester then knocked in the winning goal with 11 seconds remaining in regulation to complete the comeback and give JMU a win.
The Dukes are currently in the top 25 nationally in shots on goal per game (6th; 7.70), shutout percentage (t-8th; .600), shots per game (12th; 16.4), and won-lost-tied percentage (t-21st; .800).
JMU will take on The Mount tomorrow, Oct. 5 in Emmitsburg, Md., for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
