COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The James Madison field hockey team moved down one spot in the national rankings following the eighth week of play, coming in at No. 24 in the latest Penn Monto/ NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll, the National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced Tuesday.

The Dukes have an overall record of 11-6 and a perfect Colonial Athletic Association record of 6-0.

JMU remains in the poll after their 3-2 win over CAA opponent William & Mary.

With 17 games in the bank, the Dukes rank 11^th nationally in points per game (8.24) and assists per game (2.59) and are tied for 12^th in goals per game (2.82).

This follows freshman Cassidy Strittmatter being named CAA Rookie of the Week on Tuesday after her game winning goal against William & Mary.

JMU will be heading off to the CAA Championships and will play in the semifinals against Northeastern on Friday, Nov. 5 at 1 p.m.
