COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The James Madison field hockey team moved down one spot in the national rankings following the eighth week of play, coming in at No. 24 in the latest Penn Monto/ NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll, the National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced Tuesday.

The Dukes have an overall record of 11-6 and a perfect Colonial Athletic Association record of 6-0.

JMU remains in the poll after their 3-2 win over CAA opponent William & Mary.

With 17 games in the bank, the Dukes rank 11
th nationally in points per game (8.24) and assists per game (2.59) and are tied for 12
th in goals per game (2.82).

This follows freshman
Cassidy Strittmatter being named CAA Rookie of the Week on Tuesday after her game winning goal against William & Mary.

JMU will be heading off to the CAA Championships and will play in the semifinals against Northeastern on Friday, Nov. 5 at 1 p.m.
