- James Madison is set to face Elon for another weekend series this season, this time in the Atlantic Union Bank Center. The games are set for Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m.on FloSports. Saturday's game will be televised locally on MyValley while Sunday's contest will be shown on MASN2.
- Originally, the Dukes were scheduled to welcome in-state foe William & Mary this weekend but the games were postponed due to CoVID-19 protocols within the Tribe's program. The Phoenix was supposed to play UNCW but due to CoVID-19 protocols with the Seahawks, the games were postponed.Â
- In its last weekend series, JMU finished 1-1 again with earning a nice 70-56 win against College of Charleston in the first game while dropping a heartbreaking 63-65 decision in the second contest.Â
- In the final game of the weekend, freshman Jamia Hazell led the way in her second career start with a season-best 19 points on an efficient 50 percent shooting (7-14) with five boards, and four dimes.Â
- Due to her outstanding play in the Dukes' long four-game week, Hazell was named the Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Week, marking her second time earning the accolade this season.
- On the season, sophomore Kiki Jefferson leads the Dukes in scoring, posting 15.2 points per game (7th in CAA) on an efficient 48.6 percent (68-140) shooting from the field (8th in CAA) in addition to dishing out a team-high 2.6 assists. Sophomore Rayne Tucker is tied with Jefferson to lead the team by grabbing 6.7 rebounds a game, good for 10th-most in conference.Â
- Elon is coming off a solid 83-61 win over first-place Delaware on Sunday inside of the Schar Center.
- Four Phoenix scored in double digits led by Brie Perpignan with 20 points, six assists and five boards.
- On the season, Saadia Munford leads the way averaging 10.0 points a night on 51.6 percent shooting (33-of-64).
- Saturday and Sunday's games mark the 19th and 20th overall meetings between JMU and Elon.
- JMU holds 13-5 series lead after splitting games this year. At home, the Dukes are ahead, 6-2.Â
