HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison got back on the winning track with a decisive 7-0 women's tennis victory against Davidson on Saturday afternoon at Hillside Courts.

The Dukes improved to 4-1, while the Wildcats fell to 3-6. JMU also moved to 8-1 all-time against Davidson.

JMU claimed all three doubles matches and triumphed in all six singles matches in straight sets.

In doubles, the tandem of redshirt sophomores
Daniela Voloh and
Michelle Los Arcos downed Alyssa Hahn and Charlotte James, 6-2, on court three.

The Dukes secured the doubles point with a comeback win on court two. Redshirt sophomore
Daria Afanasyeva and redshirt senior
Jona Roka trailed 2-0 before winning the final six games to defeat Mira Gladstone and Franny Shea, 6-2.

Alexis Franco outlasted Nicole Krykanov and Josie Schaffer, 6-4, on court one.

Switching over to singles play, Voloh and Afanasyeva made quick work of their respective opponents to extend JMU's lead to 3-0. Voloh cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 win over Shea on court five, and Afanasyeva followed with a 6-2, 6-2 victory on court one versus Schaffer.

The Dukes clinched the match on court four when Nikolopoulou beat Ava Ignatowich by scores of 6-4, 6-1. Franco followed shortly after with a 6-2, 6-2 win on court three, besting Gladstone to make it a 5-0 lead.

JMU rounded out the day with two more straight-set wins. Redshirt sophomore
Amanda Nord took down Hahn on court six, 7-6(7), 6-1, and Roka completed the sweep with a tight 7-5, 7-6(9) victory against Krykanov.

MATCH NOTES
- Jona Roka moved into third all-time at JMU with her 76th career singles victory.
- She passed Kimmy Herrock (75 – 2014-18), and is just one shy of Jacqueline Palmucci (77 – 2010-14) for second.
- Michelle Los Arcos picked up her first doubles victory of the spring with her team's win on court three.
- Daniela Voloh remained unbeaten in singles play, as she's now 3-0 this spring.
