TOWSON, Md. - James Madison could not erase an early second-half deficit on Sunday afternoon, as Towson handed the Dukes a 2-0 defeat in non-conference women's soccer action at Tiger Field.

The Dukes (0-1-1) held things scoreless for the opening half and came out with new energy after the break, but Towson (1-1-2) struck before the hour mark and then again in the waning minutes to seal the defeat.

The first half saw the Tigers outshoot JMU by a 10-2 margin, drawing seven saves out of sophomore goalkeeper
Alexandra Blom, but the Dukes had a 6-4 advantage in the second half, despite the pair of opposing goals.

Iris Rabot tallied three of the Dukes' shots, putting a pair on frame, while freshman
Lexi Vanderlinden had two herself.

Danielle Maggio and Jenna Blank had the goals for Towson, with Demi Pierre picking up an assist on both efforts.

Towson
54' | After the Dukes had a goal waved off for offside just after the half, Towson responded by opening the scoring, as Pierre slid in a cross that Maggio was able to finish to make it 1-0.

88' | The Tigers sealed the match with a counter-attack in the final minutes, as Pierre and Nia Christopher combined up the right wing, pulling the defense to the right before playing Blank in on an empty net that made it 2-0 with 2:10 to play.
