CHICAGO, Ill. – Four James Madison football standouts were honored amongst the best in the nation, as Percy Agyei-Obese, Mike Greene, Ethan Ratke and Kyle Davis were named 2020-21 Stats Perform FCS First Team All-Americans.
This is the most First Team All-Americans for JMU on the Stats Perform All-America Team (formerly STATS/The Sports Network), and it matched the 2019 AFCA All-America list for most First Team honorees in program history.
Agyei-Obese, who finished tied for 11th for the Walter Payton Award, was a First Team All-CAA selection for the second straight season and is now a two-time All-American, having earned HERO Sports Third Team honors in 2019. He rushed for 717 yards and eight touchdowns, averaging 4.9 yards per carry. He turned in four 100-yard games, including a career-best 132 at Elon. Agyei-Obese ranked second in the league and 11th nationally in rushing yards per game (102.4) while leading the CAA and ranking sixth in the FCS in rushing scores.
Greene, who was named CAA Co-Defensive Player of the Year and finished ninth in the Buck Buchanan Award voting, earned All-America accolades for the first time in his career. The two-time All-CAA selection tallied 25 total tackles with 10.5 for loss and 3.0 sacks, to go with three quarterback hurries and a pair of pass breakups. Also named the Touchdown Club of Richmond Division I Defensive Lineman of the Year, Greene led the league in tackles for loss and was eighth in sacks.
Ratke earned All-America laurels for the second straight year, joining his Association Press and HERO Sports Third Team honors a season ago. The CAA Special Teams Player of the Year was a perfect 14-for-14 on field goals and 31-for-31 on extra points. He broke the CAA all-time record for career field goals and scoring this season and currently ranks tied for second in FCS history with 72 career field goals and fourth in scoring by kickers, with 392 points. His 392 also ranks tied for 18th amongst both kickers and non-kickers. This season, he ranked tied for first in the country in field goal percentage (100%), fifth in field goals per game (1.75) and seventh in scoring (9.1).
Davis was named an All-American for the first time after earning Second Team All-CAA honors this season. He completed his third season as the team's snapper on PATs and field goals and has never had a bad snap in his career. Davis helped the special teams unit go 31-for-31 on extra points and 14-for-15 on field goals, ranking fifth nationally in field goals per game and seventh in field goal percentage (.933).
