WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – James Madison's
Holden Koons was recognized amongst the best tennis players in the state, as he was named to the 2021 Virginia Sports Information Directors University Division Men's Tennis All-State Team.

Koons earned a spot on the All-State Second Team for singles, marking the second year in a row he made All-State. Following the 2019-20 shortened season, he was voted VaSID Rookie of the Year after taking home First Team singles and Second Team doubles honors.

Named the 2020-21 JMA Male Rookie of the Year and Colonial Athletic Association Co-Rookie of the Year, Koons went 10-5 while playing at the top singles spot. He was also 9-5 in doubles, including an 8-5 mark at the #1 slot. He was named First Team All-CAA in both singles and doubles and won a total of three CAA weekly awards.

Through his first two collegiate seasons, Koons holds a 30-14 singles record and 26-12 doubles mark.
