BLACKSBURG, Va. – James Madison women's tennis completed its fall tournament slate by winning 16 total matches at the ITA Atlantic Regional Championships (Oct. 20-22), held at Virginia Tech's Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center.

The Dukes notched 13 singles wins, with four players qualifying for the main draw, while also collecting three doubles victories.

Ines Oliveira and
Kylie Moulin each reached the round of 16 in singles play. Oliveira led the Dukes with five total wins on the week, including four in singles play.
Daniela Voloh also won four matches, with three coming in singles.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Qualifying Singles Rounds
JMU opened the week going 6-2 on the opening day, as four Dukes won opening-round matches and two advancing to the main draw with a second-round victory.

Voloh took down William & Mary's Ine Stange (6-3, 6-3) before cruising past Navy's Casey Accola (6-3, 6-2). Oliveira won a pair of super tiebreakers to make her way into the main draw. She beat Duquesne's Margot Pessy (6-2, 5-7, 1-0 (10-3)), followed by a comeback victory over W&M's Sofiya Kuzina (1-6, 6-3, 1-0 (15-13). In the tiebreak, she overcame five match points, trailing at one point at 9-6.

Hope Moulin also picked up an opening-round win versus George Washington's Alejandra Ramirez (6-3, 6-1), and
Daria Munteanu defeated George Mason's Taylor Garcia (6-1, 7-5).

Singles Main Draw
Four more wins came from a pair of Dukes in the main draw.

Oliveira pushed past Old Dominion's Allison Isaacs (6-3, 6-3) before advancing past Navy's Emily Tannenbaum (6-4, 6-4) in the round of 32. She ultimately fell in a hard-fought match to the tournament's top-ranked player in Virginia's Natasha Subhash (7-5, 6-3).

Kylie Moulin outlasted Virginia Tech's Charlotte Cartledge (6-4, 6-3) before dispatching Delaware's Toni Nelson (6-3, 7-5) to move into the sweet 16. She also dropped a tough match to ODU's Alesya Yakubovich (6-4, 6-4).

Doubles Main Draw
The tandem of
Daria Afanasyeva and
Hope Moulin won an opening-round doubles bout against Duquesne's Pessy and Ellen Shanahan, 8-3, before dropping an 8-4 decision to Virginia's Meggie Navarro and Ziodato.

Consolation Matches
In singles, Voloh took down Mason's Paige La (6-2, 6-2), Munteanu blanked VT's Sophia Mitchell (6-0, 6-0) and Afanasyeva slid past Maryland's Hannah McColgan (6-3, 6-4).

On the doubles side, the Dukes had a convincing 6-0 win by
Kylie Moulin and Oliveira against Mason's Jackie Nannery and Emily Wirt. They also got a 7-5 win from the duo of Munteanu and Voloh versus W&M's Emma Fernald and Kuzina.
