Julia McNeley's seven aces gave James Madison a boost to in its 3-0 win(25-21, 25-10, 25-18) against Old Dominion to sweep the series Saturday afternoon at Godwin Hall.

The Dukes improved to 11-4 (5-1) while the Monarchs fell to 7-10 (2-2).

Sophie Davis recorded 12 kills and a hitting percentage of .435, putting her season percentage at .407. As the Sun Belt leader in blocks, Davis also recorded six blocks.Â

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set
The Dukes got off to an early 5-1 lead, but the Monarchs caught back up, tying the set to 6-6. An 8-0 run put JMU back ahead, and though ODU closed the gap a few times, the Dukes took the first set.

Second Set
In a dominant second set, the Dukes wrapped the set up with a 10-1 run to win it 25-10.
Madilyn O'Toole and McNeley each recorded an ace in this run.

Third Set
With a season record 10 straight points, the Dukes controlled the third set early on. Scoring went back and forth for the rest of the set, but JMU took the win to sweep the weekend.

GAME NOTES
- JMU held ODU to a hitting percentage of .077, the fourth time this season the Dukes have held an opponent under .100.
- McNeley replaced O'Toole and Davis with the single match record of aces this season. The two players recorded five aces each against Robert Morris at the beginning of the season.
- This was Davis' tenth match hitting above .300 this season.
- Caroline Dozier is less than 300 assists away from a career 2000 assists.
