BUFFALO, N.Y. - James Madison men's basketball picked up its largest road win in more than four decades on Saturday afternoon, hammering Buffalo in a 97-62 win at Alumni Arena.

The Dukes (3-0) racked up 97 points, but blew the game open on the defensive side, matching a JMU record by forcing the Bulls (1-1) into committing 30 turnovers - 15 on either side of halftime.

Senior guard
Vado Morse led the offensive side of things, racking up 22 points, including 13 in the second half, as he became the third different JMU player to lead the team in scoring this season. Morse also added four rebounds, four assists and three steals.

Graduate forward
Alonzo Sule went for 14 points and seven rebounds on the day, going a perfect 10-for-10 at the free throw line on the afternoon, while graduates
Takal Molson and
Mezie Offurum added 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Curtis Jones led the Bulls on the day, tallying 13 points and six boards to go with three steals.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half
The action was back and forth to open the contest, with fouls and turnovers slowing the pace down in the early minutes. After Buffalo took a 7-6 lead at the 16:44 mark, the Dukes posted a 15-2 run across the next 5:18 to push their advantage to 21-9. The Bulls would not get back within single digits for the remainder of the game, as JMU steadily build the lead to as many as 18 before halftime.

Second Half
The Dukes' first-half run would be their largest of the game, despite controlling the second half. JMU continued to build its lead, taking a 30-point advantage for good at the 9:58 mark and getting up by as many as 40 with less than two minutes to play.

- The last time JMU picked up a win on the road by more than 30 points was a 105-73 win at Saint Leo on Jan. 13, 1976.
- According to JMU records, this marks the first time in program history that the Dukes have started a season with three straight games of scoring 90 or more points.
