RICHMOND, Va. – James Madison senior
William Karpinski has been selected as the Colonial Athletic Association Men's Tennis Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.

Karpinski went 2-0 at #2 singles and 1-0 at #3 doubles to help JMU to home wins against conference foe Drexel and Navy.

He began the week with a 7-5, 6-4 victory against Drexel's Alex De Sousa, aiding in JMU's 6-1 triumph.

The Potomac, Md., native rounded out the week with a solid Senior Day performance, downing Navy's Jack McBride, 6-1, 6-1, while teaming with
Oscar Hernandez for a 6-2 win over Jan Kjellberg and Christian Pumpelly. The duo also led 5-4 in the Drexel match when the doubles point was secured.

This is the first career Player of the Week accolade for Karpinski and his second overall honor, joining a 2019 CAA Doubles Team of the Week award with former teammate
Gonzalo Adis.

Karpinski and the Dukes (12-4) return to action on Tuesday, April 5 when they host Elon in the team's final home match of the season. The opening serve is set for 2:30 p.m. at Hillside Courts.
