HARRISONBURG, Va. — The James Madison women's basketball team topped Delaware 78-62 in the season finale Saturday afternoon at the Atlantic Union Bank Center. The Dukes end their season with a record of 14-15 (10-8 CAA) while the Blue Hens head into the postseason at 21-7 (15-3 CAA).
JMU shot 43.1% (25-58) from the floor while holding Delaware to their lowest field goal percentage of the season at 27.4% (20-73). The Dukes held Delaware to just nine points in the third quarter as they poured in 22 points to distance themselves from the Blue Hens.
Kiki Jefferson scored a team-high 20 points while
Jaylin Carodine led all players on the boards with 17 rebounds.

Steph Ouderkirk gave the Dukes a 10-6 at the 5:28 mark.
- JMU ended the opening frame on a 10-0 run to hold an eight-point lead heading into the second.
Second Quarter: JMU 36, Delaware 27
- The first three minutes of the second quarter were scoreless until Jasmine Dickey made a layup to cut Delaware's deficit to six.
- The Dukes went up by as many as 12 points, but the Blue Hens cut it to nine with a pair of jumpers in the final 1:08 of the half.
Third Quarter: JMU 58, Delaware 36
- JMU outscored the Blue Hens 22-9 following the break.
- The Dukes held Delaware to just two points through the first 7:45 minutes as they went 0-for-12 from floor.
- The Blue Hens wouldn't make a field goal until 2:06 when Dickey collected her own rebound off a missed jumper and put it back up for an easy layup.
Fourth Quarter: JMU 78, Delaware 62
- The Dukes went up by as many as 26 points early in the final stanza.
- Delaware outscored JMU 26-20 in the fourth, but the Dukes had distanced themselves enough early on to walk away with the win.
