WASHINGTON – James Madison lacrosse attacker
Isabella Peterson was named to the Tewaaraton Award Women's Watch List in the second round of additions, the organization announced on Friday.
Â
Peterson joins goalkeeper
Molly Dougherty, who was named to the award's preseason watch list in February.
Â
The redshirt sophomore joined the list after scoring 40 goals in JMU's first 11 games, including 16 in the Dukes' last three. She is tied for 11th nationally in total goals and leads the league in goals per game (3.64), points per game (4.36), and shots per game (6.73).
Â
Peterson has also secured 54 draws (4.91/game) to lead the Dukes, ranking second in the league in that statistic. She set a career-high with nine against Virginia Tech on Feb. 16.
Â
Her efforts have helped JMU to a 7-4 record and a No. 12 ranking in the most recent ILWomen/IWLCA Division I Poll. After scoring five goals against third-ranked Maryland, Peterson won IWLCA Co-Offensive Player of the Week on March 28.
Â
She has also received conference Player of the Week honors three times in 2022.
Â
The Tewaaraton Award Ceremony will be held in Washington on June 2, and will be comprised of five men's and five women's finalists from across the country.
