William Karpinski and sophomore
Oscar Hernandez were selected as the Colonial Athletic Association Men's Tennis Doubles Team of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.

The tandem wrapped up the spring season going 7-0 as a team in dual-match play after clinching the doubles points in both matches last week

Competing at the No. 3 slot, Karpinski and Hernandez downed Morgan State's Niles Rachal and Rhajzon Rankina, 6-3, aiding in JMU's 5-2 win over the Bears in a neutral-site match in York, Pa. They followed that up with a 6-4 victory against Penn State's Harrison Janes and Alexander Karman to give the Dukes a 1-0 match lead.

Karpinski also picked up a straight-set win at No. 2 singles in the MSU victory last Friday.

The Dukes closed the 2021-22 season with a 14-6 overall record, as their .700 win percentage was the highest since the 1989-90 season, when JMU finished 16-2 (.889).
