GREENVILLE, N.C. - The James Madison women's golf team carded the second-lowest final round in the field on Tuesday afternoon, vaulting into third place on the last day of the ECU Ironwood Invitational, hosted at the par-72, 6,278-yard Ironwood Country Club.

After strong rounds of 293 (+5) and 290 (+2) on Monday's opening day, the Dukes posted a final-round even-par 288 to climb into sole possession of third place on a strong 13-team leaderboard, finishing one shot ahead of host East Carolina and four shots ahead of No. 39 Campbell and No. 50 North Florida.

Senior
Carly Lyvers led the way on Tuesday with a final-round 70 (-2) that matched her collegiate best and pushed her up into a tie for 15th among 77 players. Her final score of 219 (74-75-70, +3) also marks a new collegiate low for the senior.

Kendall Turner joined Lyvers in a tie for 15th, carding rounds of 73-70-76 on the week, while redshirt junior
Kate Owens was one shot behind the pair in a tie for 20th at 220 (75-73-72, +4).

Amelia Williams continued the Dukes' run of consistent scoring, finishing tied for 22nd at 221 (77-72-72, +5), with freshman
Kayleigh Reinke one more shot back in a tie for 26th at 222 (71-77-74, +6).

NOTES FROM THE COURSE
- The Dukes' scoring average this season now stands at 293.03, shattering last year's school record of 301.52.

Kate Owens tallied nine birdies across her three rounds, giving her 82 on the season and tying the program record for birdies in a single season. (Maria Andrea Legaspi, 2012-13)
- With her tie for 15th,
Kendall Turner now has three straight top-15 finishes and six on the season in just 10 tournaments.
- JMU's final round was the 13th round of par or better in program history, nine of which have come this season.
- All five JMU players had at least one round of par or better on the week - the six combined rounds give the Dukes 49 on the season across the entire roster. The previous program record stood at 16 in last season's spring-only campaign.

JMU will be off this weekend before traveling to The Clubs at St. James in Southport, N.C. to take part in the 2022 Colonial Athletic Association Championship on April 15-17.
