HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison women's soccer extended its unbeaten streak to a program record tying nine matches, as it played Texas State to a scoreless draw on Friday night at Sentara Park in Sun Belt Conference action.
The Dukes moved to 6-2-7, 3-0-4 SBC and remain one of two Sun Belt teams yet to lose a conference match. The Bobcats moved to 7-5-3, 2-2-3 SBC. JMU is now unbeaten in its last 12 home matches, which is a Sentara Park record and the longest home unbeaten streak since 19 straight in 2006-08.

How It Happened
- It was a slow start to the match for both sides, as Texas State's Victoria Meza fired the first shot of the match in the 25th minute.
- Junior Amanda Attanasi nearly got the Dukes on the board in the 28th minute, as her header inside the six-yard box caromed off the crossbar. Sophomore Jordan Yang had a chance to fire the rebounded ball back in but missed wide.
- In the 38th minute, Johnson sent a heater from outside the 18-yard box headed for the near corner of the goal, but a diving stop by Caitlyn Draper kept the scoreboard free of goals.
- Johnson had another look on goal in the 52nd minute but had her shot saved once again.
- The JMU defense clamped down in the second half, allowing shots by Texas State in the 55th and 60th minutes before not allowing another shot over the final half hour of play.
- JMU had one last opportunity to get on the board with 51 seconds left, but Draper came up with a save on a shot by redshirt senior Suwaibatu Mohammed.

The Dukes are in the thick of the race for the East Division title and a top-two seed in the Sun Belt Tournament as their final three regular season matches are all against East Division opponents. They will travel to Georgia State on Thursday, Oct. 19 for a 7 p.m. kickoff before hosting Georgia Southern (Oct. 22) and Coastal Carolina (Oct. 26) to end the regular season.
