Dukes Play to Scoreless Draw at Old Dominion

 NORFOLK, Va. – In a rematch of last season's Sun Belt Conference Tournament Championship, James Madison women's soccer played to a scoreless draw with Old Dominion at the ODU Soccer Complex on Sunday night.

The Dukes moved their unbeaten streak to eight and are now 6-2-6, 3-0-3 SBC while the Monarchs moved to 9-1-3, 4-1-1 SBC. With today's draw, JMU now leads ODU 2.5-0.5 in the TowneBank Royal Rivalry Challenge.

Junior Shea Collins had a pair of shots to lead the JMU attack. Redshirt senior Alexandra Blom made nine saves in goal for the Dukes, one shy of her career high, and moved into a tie for third with Ellen Forrest for solo shutouts in a JMU career at 19.

How It Happened
- ODU fired off its first of 14 shots in the ninth minute, missing high.
- Blom made her first save in the 36th minute before saving a second shot in the 40th minute.
- The Monarchs wasted little time attacking the net in the second half, firing a shot that was saved by Blom less than two minutes into the half.
- ODU outshot the Dukes in the second half 11-4 and had a 4-0 advantage in corner kicks, but Blom made seven saves in the final 45 minutes.
- The Dukes had their best opportunity to break the tie in the 90th minute, as redshirt senior Brittany Munson sent a heater off the crossbar before classmate Ellie Johnson had the lone JMU shot on goal saved 17 seconds later.

- The Dukes were held scoreless for the first time since their scoreless draw at then-No. 13 Georgetown on Sept. 7.
