JMU Falls to #16 Duke During Midweek Matchup

DURHAM, N.C. – James Madison softball had its four-game win streak snapped on Wednesday evening, dropping a 5-0 loss to #16 Duke.

The Dukes fall to 13-6 on the season while the Blue Devils advance to 21-5.

Junior Alissa Humphrey got the start in the circle for James Madison, working 3.2 innings and tossing four strikeouts despite five runs. Freshman Kylah Berry entered the circle during the fourth inning to close out the contest, tallying three strikeouts, one walk and yielding no hits.

Graduate student Hallie Hall and sophomore Kylee Gleason were the only two Dukes to grab a hit from the Blue Devils.

- Duke got on the scoreboard first in the bottom of the second inning when the Blue Devils hit a two-run home run.
- In the bottom of the third inning, Duke added their third run from a fielder's choice.
- Duke extended their led with two more home runs in the bottom of the fourth.

- Â Humphrey notched her 100th strikeout of the season during tonight's game.
