HARRISONBURG, Va. - Former DMV star
Quincy Allen has joined the James Madison men's basketball program for 2023-24, Head Coach
Mark Byington announced on Friday morning.
Â
Allen, a 6-foot-8 swingman, will arrive in Harrisonburg with three seasons of college eligibility remaining after two years at Colorado. Prior to that, he was the 2020-21 Washington, D.C. Gatorade Player of the Year after averaging 22.3 points and 10.3 rebounds as a senior at Maret School.
Â
"Quincy is an extremely talented player and has something to prove," Byington said. "That will be a great combination for us. He's able to play multiple positions and is an elite shooter at 6'8"."
Â
As he wrapped up his prep career, Allen was a consensus four-star prospect, ranking among the top 75 prospects nationally by ESPN, Rivals and 247Sports.
Â
He was also named First Team Mid-Atlantic Athletic Conference, one of the strongest private high school leagues in the country, when he was just a sophomore and played one season with Team Takeover in Washington, D.C.
Â
Allen joins incoming signees Bryant Randleman and Michael Green III, as well as seven returning letterwinners from the 2022-23 campaign, which saw the Dukes rack up their most wins since the historic 1981-82 campaign.
