Kendall Turner picked up a top-five finish, and James Madison women's golf finished fifth at the Lady Paladin Invitational Sunday afternoon.

In a deep field of 99 players, Turner's three-round score of 212 (-4) earned the fifth-year senior the tie for fifth. Turner carded consecutive rounds of 70 (-2) on Friday and Saturday, and completed Sunday's round with an even-par 72.Â

In the 16-team tournament, JMU finished in fifth with rounds of 290-293-292 which equaled a 54-hole total of 875 (+11) on the par 72, 6,262-yard layout on the Furman University Golf Course.Â

Amelia Williams recorded her second straight top 25, as the senior improved her scores every round (75-72-71) and finished tied for 17th with a three-round tally of 218 (+2).

After she opened the tournament with a two-under-par 70,
Tatum Walsh bounced back from a second-round 80 (+8) and recorded an even-par 72 in the final round. The junior finished with a 54-hole aggregate of 222 (+6) and tied for 30th.

Julia ZiGrossi, who competed as an individual for the second straight tournament, wrapped up her 54 holes tied for 49th with a stroke count of 225 (+9). After the freshman posted a first-round 74 (+2), she went under on Saturday with a career-low 71 (-1) but slipped to an 80 (+8) in Sunday's final round.Â

Kayleigh Reinke (75-74-77) managed a three-round score of 226 (+10) and finished tied for 54th, while
Haley Quickel completed two rounds (78-77).

UP NEXT
The Dukes will be off for a couple of weeks before returning to play at the Evie Odom Invitational, hosted by Old Dominion in Virginia Beach on Oct. 6-8.
