West Lafayette, Ind. - Senior
Kendall Turner notched her 13th
career top-10 finish as James Madison women's golf finished 12
th at the Boilermaker Classic on Tuesday.
Turner finished her three rounds at 70-69-74 (-3), which was good for seventh place out of 85 competitors on the par-72, 6,299-yard layout at the Kampen Course.
As a team, JMU finished 12th out of 14 teams, with an aggregate score of 904 (292-305-307).
Senior
Amelia Williams and junior
Kayleigh Reinke both finished tied for 51
st with three-round scores of 228 (+12). Williams shot 75-78-75, while Reinke finished 70-79-79.
Freshman
Amber Mackiewicz (77-81-79) and sophomore
Maria Atwood (79-79-80) rounded out the JMU lineup with t-77 and t-79 finishes.
Thanks to a tournament-best second-round 270 (-18), host Purdue pulled away from the field to secure the team championship. Their final tally of 12 strokes under par was six shots ahead of the next closest team Alabama.

The Dukes will head to the Penn State Blue Course in State College for the Nittany Lion Invitational on Sept. 16-17.
