 DUKES RETURN HOME TO HOST MARY BALDWIN
James Madison basketball returns home to host the Mary Baldwin Fighting Squirrels on Tuesday, November 12.
 Tipoff inside the Atlantic Union Bank Center is set for 7 p.m. and will be available on ESPN+. Dave Riggert will provide radio coverage through WSVA 92.1 FM | 550 AM radio and the Varsity Network App.
This will be the first matchup between the two programs separated by 30 minutes. Mary Baldwin started their men's basketball program in 2020-21 and is led by Head Coach Daniel Eacho, who is in his first season leading the Fighting Squirrels.
JMU enters the contest with a 1-1 record after dropping its first road contest of the season, 83-69, to Norfolk State on Saturday, while Mary Baldwin sits at 1-1 with a win against Wilson College (95-85) and a loss to Maine Maritime Academy (72-69).
 LAST TIME OUT
Norfolk State shot 76 percent (16-21) from the floor in the second half and pulled away from James Madison, 83-69.
The Spartans' win was their 18th consecutive win at Joseph G. Echols Hall dating back to February 2023.
Bryce Lindsay scored 21 points to lead JMU, while AJ Smith recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Xavier Brown had 13 points, four assists, and three steals.
JMU outrebounded NSU 40-26, which included 19 offensive rebounds and an 18-0 edge in second-chance points.
 SCOUTING MARY BALDWIN
Mary Baldwin, located just down the road in Staunton, Va., enters with a 1-1 record.
Through two games, Jaden Ignacio is averaging 24.5 points per game, including a 40-point outburst in the season opener against Wilson College.
In 2023-24, Mary Baldwin finished with a 17-11 record with an 11-3 mark in USA South Conference play. Its season culminated in a victory in the conference tournament championship game against Greensboro College.
The Fighting Squirrels fell to Case Western Reserve University in the first round of the NCAA Division III Championship, 66-51.
MBU was picked to finish fourth in the preseason coaches poll.
 DOMINATING THE BOARDS
Through two games, JMU has outrebounded Ohio and Norfolk State by a combined margin of +16.0, the best mark in the Sun Belt Conference and tied for 32nd nationally.
Against Ohio, the Dukes outrebounded the Bobcats 41-23 and corralled 13 offensive rebounds. Against Norfolk State last Saturday, JMU had 19 offensive rebounds and held a 40-26 lead on the glass.
 AJ Smith leads the Dukes in rebounds (15) and rebounds per game (7.5), including a 10-rebound showing against the Spartans.
The 18 offensive rebounds against Norfolk State led to 18 second-chance points, while Norfolk State did not have a single offensive rebound.
 SUPPORTING CAST
Guard AJ Smith made his JMU debut on Monday, Nov. 4 against Ohio scoring 11 points with five rebounds and two assists in 25 minutes of action. He followed that performance with a 14-point, 10-rebound double-double at Norfolk State last Saturday.
Redshirt freshman Bryce Lindsay scored a career-high 21 points against Norfolk State, knocking down five three-pointers.
Elijah Hutchins-Everett played 28 minutes and scored 13 points while corralling eight rebounds, including a perfect 6-for-6 from the charity stripe.
Syracuse transfer and Charlottesville, Va., native Justin Taylor earned the start and played 20 minutes against Ohio.
 SEASON TICKETS

Attendees can watch JMU take on Ohio (Nov. 4), George Mason (Nov. 28), App State (Jan. 18) and Coastal Carolina (Jan. 30). The deal runs at $80 for lowered reserved seating and $50 in upper reserved.
 PARKING Reserved Parking
All parking pass holders — both Spot-Specific and Reserved — will enter through the North Entrance of the Ballard Parking Deck. For those entering through the North Entrance, all parking is reserved and first-come-first-serve. There will be no spot-specific parking available for doubleheaders.
General Parking
Accessible via the South Entrance of the Ballard Parking Deck as well as the adjacent surface lots (C12, D3, and R4), general parking is available beginning two hours before game time. General parking is free of charge, available on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be reserved in advance.
