JMU FACES ROAD TEST AT FORMER CAA RIVAL TOWSON ON SATURDAY NIGHT
- James Madison continues its season with a road contest against former Colonial Athletic Association rival Towson this Saturday, Nov. 16., at 8 p.m.
- JMU enters the contest with a 2-1 record with wins over Ohio and Mary Baldwin at home and a loss to Norfolk State on the road, while Towson sits at 1-2 with a win over Penn State Wilkes-Barre and losses at Saint Mary's (CA) and South Carolina.
- The game will be streamed on FloSports, while Corey Spector will provide radio coverage through WSVA 92.1 FM | 550 AM and the Varsity Network App.
- The Dukes own a 13-14 in road contests against Towson, with the last victory coming Jan. 16, 2021 (78-63)

- Elijah Hutchins-Everett scored a game-high 21 points and also corralled 12 rebounds for his first double-double in a JMU uniform.
- Xavier Brown scored 17 points and had three steals for the third straight game, while Eddie Ricks III and Ebenezer Dowuona each had 10 points.

SCOUTING TOWSON
- Towson enters this weekend's contest with a 1-2 record, with road losses at Saint Mary's (CA) and South Carolina.
- The Tigers are led by Head Coach Patrick Skerry, who is in his 14th season at the helm. During his tenure, he has accumulated a record of 214-201 (.516).
- Towson has won 13 of its last 15 games at TU Arena, going 12-2 last season. The Tigers lost in the semifinals of the CAA conference tournament to No. 1 seed Charleston.
- Towson has had a major home court advantage over the last nine years at TU Arena. Since moving into the arena from the Towson Center in 2013, the Tigers have gone 104-43. Towson has had a winning record in home games in seven of the nine seasons.
- Through three games, Tyler Tejada leads Towson in scoring, averaging 14.7 points per game. Dylan Williamson (11.0) and Christian May (10.0) also average double figures, while May also leads the team in rebounding (7.5).
- The trio of Tejada, Williamson, and May were all named to CAA Preseason All-Conference teams, as Tejada was named to the first team, Williamson to the second, and May to the honorable mention.

DYNAMIC BACKCOURT DUO
- The backcourt tandem of Xavier Brown and Mark Freeman are scoring over 24 points per game. The pair combined for 39 points in JMU's 88-78 win over Ohio on Monday, Nov. 4 to open the season.
- The pair also knocked down six of the Dukes' 10 three-pointers as JMU shot 10-20 (.500) as a team from behind the arc against the Bobcats.
- Â Through the first week of the season, Brown's 17.7 points per game is the second-highest in the Sun Belt behind Robert Davis Jr. of Old Dominion, who is scoring 20 points per game.
- Freeman dished out seven assists in the win vs. Mary Baldwin, the most by any JMU player so far this season.

DOMINATING THE BOARDS
- Through three games, JMU has outrebounded its opponents by a combined margin of +18.3, best in the Sun Belt and eighth nationally.
- Against Ohio, the Dukes outrebounded the Bobcats 41-23 and corralled 13 offensive rebounds. Against Norfolk State last Saturday, JMU had 19 offensive rebounds and held a 40-26 lead on the glass. JMU overpowered Mary Baldwin on the boards 48-25.
- Â Elijah Hutchins-Everett leads the Dukes in rebounds (25) and rebounds per game (8.3), while AJ Smith leads the team in offensive boards (10) and has 22 rebounds through three games (7.3/game).
- The 18 offensive rebounds against Norfolk State led to 18 second-chance points, while Norfolk State did not have a single offensive rebound.
- Through three games, JMU has totaled 41 offensive rebounds (13.66/game) and has outrebounded its opponent all three times.
