Dukes Close Regular Season Saturday Night Versus Marshall

HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison wraps up the 2024 regular season on Saturday, Nov. 30 when it hosts Marshall. It will also be Senior Day, as those who are playing in their final game in Harrisonburg will be honored prior to kickoff.

Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. at Bridgeforth Stadium, and the game will be nationally televised on ESPNU. Pregame radio coverage on the Morris Insurance & Financial JMU Radio Network begins at 6 p.m.

BREAKING DOWN THE SERIES

Saturday marks the fifth meeting all-time between JMU and Marshall, with the Thundering Herd leading 3-1.
Last season on Oct. 19, 2023, JMU shut down Marshall's offense to earn its first victory in the series with a 20-9 triumph in Huntington.
Prior to that, Marshall had claimed the first three meetings, including the first two in the playoffs while both programs competed at the Division I-AA level.

JMU is seeking its first home win in two tries against the Herd, as Marshall claimed a 26-12 victory at Bridgeforth Stadium on Oct. 22, 2022 - JMU's only home setback in its first FBS season.
Over the previous four meetings, JMU averages 16.25 points while Marshall scores 26.0 points on average.

SEEKING UNBEATEN HOME SEASON

While JMU can't advance to its first Sun Belt title game this season, it can still finish off the regular season with a perfect record inside Bridgeforth Stadium.
A win over Marshall would mark JMU's 11th unbeaten home record since the start of the program in 1972 and for the first time since 2020 (season played in spring 2021).
Over the past nine seasons, JMU has been incredible at home, going 58-4 (94%) since 2016.
During that span, JMU has finished the year undefeated in Harrisonburg four times, going 5-0 in 2020, 9-0 in both 2017 and 2019 and 8-0 in 2016.
This season, JMU has won its five home games by an average of 37.0 to 8.4
JMU has allowed just four touchdowns to opposing teams at home in 2024.

TEN STRAIGHT SELLOUTS AT BFS

JMU has sold out all five games this season, and the Nov. 9 matchup with GSU marked the 10th consecutive sellout dating back to last season.
JMU is averaging 25,417 fans at Bridgeforth Stadium this year, which includes three of the top-10 attendances ever.
On Oct. 10, a total of 25,622 spectators were on hand for JMU's first Thursday night home game in its FBS era, which is the ninth-best attendance in Bridgeforth history.
Family Weekend on Sept. 28 versus Ball State saw 25,786 in attendance, which is seventh in stadium history.
Last time out versus GSU, 25,709 were in attendance for the 38-7 triumph, which was ninth-best attendance for a JMU home game.

LEADING THE FBS IN TURNOVER MARGIN

JMU had won the turnover battle in every game up until last week's game at App State, yet the Dukes still lead the country in turnover margin (+1.55) entering Saturday's bout.
The JMU defense is also second nationally in total takeaways (25) and interceptions (17) and 20th in fumble recoveries (8).
On the other side of the ball, JMU is second in the FBS with just three interceptions thrown, which is second nationally, tied for the Sun Belt lead and first among teams not running the triple option.
