JMU SET TO HOST ETSU ON TUESDAY NIGHT
- James Madison men's basketball is set to host East Tennessee State of the Southern Conference (SoCon) on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at the Atlantic Union Bank Center at 7 p.m.Â
- The Dukes finished the month of November with a 4-4 record, closing the month with a 66-61 setback to Commonwealth rival George Mason on Friday, Nov. 29.Â
- The Buccaneers are led by Head Coach Brooks Savage - who is in his second year at the helm -Â and enter this contest with a 6-2 record.
- The game will stream on ESPN+ with Curt Dudley and Steve Buckhantz. Dave Riggert will call the game on WSVA 92.1 FM | 550 AM and the Varsity Network App, with coverage beginning at 6:30.
- Tuesday's matchup will mark the first meeting between the two schools in nearly 12 years, as the two teams last met on Dec. 5, 2012, in Harrisonburg, a 70-45 JMU victory.
- JMU leads the all-time series with the Buccaneers 7-5, including a 3-2 record at home. However, the Dukes are just 1-5 against ETSU on the road. The two teams also met in Lexington, Ky., on Dec. 22, 1984 - a 56-46 JMU win.

LAST TIME OUT
- JMU shot a season-low 35.7 percent from the field and fell to George Mason, 66-61, inside the Atlantic Union Bank Center on Friday, Nov. 29.
- George Mason shot 48.9 (23-47) from the field and 54 percent (13-24) in the second half. Jalen Haynes scored 20 points to lead the Patriots, while KD Johnson scored 14 in 24 minutes off the bench.
- Bryce Lindsay knocked down five three-pointers and finished with a team-high 19 points, while AJ Smith tied a season-high 10 rebounds while adding two points.
- Elijah Hutchins-Everett finished with 10 points and six rebounds and Mark Freeman led the Dukes with four assists.
- Of JMU's 64 field goals attempted, 40 were 3-point tries, making just 10 (.250). It is the second time the Dukes have shot 40 or more threes in a game this season (Norfolk State, L, 83-69, Nov. 9).

THE ETSU SCOUT
- ETSU enters Tuesday's game with a 6-2 record, the first of three straight road games for the Buccaneers. After the game with JMU, they will play road games at Wichita State (Dec. 7) and Jacksonville (Dec. 14).Â
- ETSU has won four games in a row, taking down USC Upstate (87-76), Queens (N.C) (82-67), Charlotte (75-55), and Austin Peay (79-57).
- In 2023-24, ETSU made the finals of the SoCon tournament with wins over No. 10 VMI, No. 2 UNC Greensboro, and No. 3 Chattanooga before falling to No. 1 Samford in the final.
- ETSU was picked to finish third in the 2024-25 SoCon Preseason Coaches Poll, while Quimari Peterson and Jaden Seymour were named to the conference's 10-player preseason all-conference team.
- This season, ETSU is scoring 78.5 points per game while giving up just 64.8 points per game. The Buccaneers are second in the SoCon in three-point percentage (36.5) and third in team rebounding (40.6/game).
- Quinari Peterson leads ETSU in scoring (18.3), assists per game (4.1), and three-point percentage (44.4), making 2.0 three-pointers per game.
- Jaden Seymour and Karon Boyd are averaging 7.0 rebounds per game each to lead ETSU.
- ETSU has made the NCAA Tournament five times since 2000 (2003, 2004, 2009, 2010, 2017, 2020) and reached the Sweet 16 in 1968. Current Wake Forest Head Coach Steve Forbes coached the Buccaneers from 2015-20, amassing a record of 130-43 with two SoCon Championships.

BRYCE LINDSANITY
- After only playing in eight games last year at Texas A&M, redshirt freshman guard Bryce Lindsay leads JMU in scoring (15 ppg), three-pointers made (26), and three-point percentage (49.1) for the Dukes in 2024-25 all while coming off the bench.
- Through the season's opening weeks, Lindsay is one of two players nationally averaging at least 15 points per game off the bench while shooting 45 percent or greater from three, joining Will Riley of Illinois. His three-point percentage of49.1 ranks second in the Sun Belt Conference and 26th nationally as of Sunday, Dec. 1.
- Over his last five games, Bryce Lindsay is averaging 16.8 points per game and shooting 20-for-37 from behind the arc (.540).
- At the Boardwalk Battle in Daytona Beach, Lindsay finished with 56 points in three games (18.7 / game) while shooting 63 percent (19-30) from the floor and 61.9 percent from deep (13-21).
- He poured in a career-high 28 points in the tournament opener against UIC - 23 of which came in the first half. He finished the first half a perfect 9-for-9 from the floor with three 3-pointers before finishing with 28. He became the first freshman and 25th NCAA Division I player since 2004-05 to record 25 points with 10 made field goals at 90 percent or better, five 3-pointers, and five rebounds in a single game to help James Madison score a season-high 99 points.
- Lindsay also became the first JMU player since Vado Morse in January 2022 to hit five 3-pointers in consecutive games, as the guard finished 5-of-6 against UIC and 5-of-9 against UC San Diego. Lindsay has hit five three-pointers in three of his last four games played.

X GON' TAKE IT FROM YA
- Junior guard Xavier Brown is currently enjoying a breakout season, as he is averaging career-highs in points (14.6), rebounds (3.4), and assists (2.8). He also leads JMU with 18 steals (2.25 per game) and has recorded three or more steals on five occasions this season.
- In 2023-24, despite coming off the bench for half the season, Brown finished with 52 steals - tied for the fifth-most in a single season in school history.

DOMINATING THE BOARDS
- Through the first month of the 2024-25 college basketball season, James Madison owns a rebounding margin of +9.3, first in the Sun Belt and 29th nationally. In eight games, the Dukes have not lost the rebounding battle once.
- The Dukes have made hay on the offensive glass, averaging just over 12 offensive rebounds per game. JMU's team average of 37.6 rebounds per game ranks sixth in the Sun Belt.
- Junior AJ Smith leads the Dukes in total rebounds (58), offensive rebounds (23), and rebounds per game (7.3) and had 10 boards against George Mason on Nov. 29. He also had 10 at Norfolk State on Nov. 9.
- Big man Elijah Hutchins-Everett has collected 46 total rebounds (6.6/game).

Reserved Parking
- All parking pass holders — both Spot-Specific and Reserved — will enter through the North Entrance of the Ballard Parking Deck. For those entering through the North Entrance, all parking is reserved and first-come-first-serve. There will be no spot-specific parking available for doubleheaders.
General Parking
- Accessible via the South Entrance of the Ballard Parking Deck as well as the adjacent surface lots (C12, D3, and R4), general parking is available beginning two hours before game time. General parking is free of charge, available on a first-come, first-served basis, and cannot be reserved in advance.
