JMU SET FOR THURSDAY NIGHT HOOPS AT VCU
- James Madison will head to Richmond, Va. to take on VCU Thursday night in non-conference action. The opening tip inside the Siegel Center is scheduled for 6 p.m. and will stream on ESPN+.
- Last time out, JMU turned 23 Florida turnovers into 24 points to come away with a 77-72 victory at the St. Pete Showcase on Friday afternoon inside the Walter Athletic Complex.
- Peyton McDaniel led the Dukes with 20 points, knocking down 6-of-15 (.400) from three and recording five steals on her way to being named to the St. Pete Showcase All-Tournament Team. Ro Scott finished with 12 points, including nine in the opening frame. Angela Williams notched 11 points and pulled down a team-best six rebounds, while Zakiya Stephenson added 10 points and a game-high four assists. Bree Robinson played a key role in the Dukes' defense showing, tallying five steals, three of which came during the fourth.
- JMU owns three top-50 rankings nationally: three-point percentage defense (24th - 23.9), rebounds per game (T-40th - 42.88) and offensive rebounds per game (T-49th - 14.6).
- McDaniel is tied for 18th in the nation in steals (23), tied for 31st in three-point attempts (57) and tied for 34th in steals per game (2.88).
- VCU is coming off a 1-2 trip to Cancun, Mexico, with a 57-51 win over Providence (Nov. 28), and losses to San Diego State (55-46, Nov. 29) and Wisconsin (58-45, Nov. 30).

- James Madison holds a 196-79-2 (.713) record against current Atlantic 10 foes, while Head Coach Sean O'Regan is 10-3 (.769) against the conference.
- The Dukes have played Richmond the most with 91 meetings, with JMU holding a 60-29-2 advantage. Coach O'Regan's three losses to the A10 came at the hands of Saint Joseph's (73-66 - Nov. 19, 2017), Dayton (82-54 - Dec. 17, 2017) and George Washington (54-50 - Dec. 2, 2021).Â

- James Madison made 31-of-63 (.492) from the field to overpower VCU, 78-65, inside the Atlantic Union Bank Center on Nov. 19, 2023.
- JMU pulled down 45 rebounds and held the Rams (3-1) to 3-of-19 (.158) from three.
- Peyton McDaniel led all players with 19 points with a 7-for-15 (.467) shooting clip. Jamia Hazell registered 15 points, 11 of which came in the second half.

- Since joining the Sun Belt in 2022, the Dukes are 29-14 (.674) outside the friendly confines of the Atlantic Union Bank Center, highlighted by a 16-4 (.800) mark in the team's inaugural season in the new conference. The 12 true road wins that season tied the program record with the 2006-07 and 2014-15 seasons with marks of 12-5 and 12-1, respectively.
- JMU has gone 3-2 over its last five true road games, most recently falling at No. 6 Notre Dame, 92-46, on Nov. 13.

- The Dukes are 17-3 (.850) since joining the Sun Belt when coming off a loss. JMU most recently overcame a 85-83 overtime loss to Northern Arizona (Nov. 28) with a 77-72 victory over Florida (Nov. 29) at the St. Pete Showcase

1,000-POINT CLUB
- Peyton McDaniel crossed the 1,000-point plateau after a 21-point outing, going 7-of-14 (.500) from the floor and 3-of-7 (.429) from three-point range at Old Dominion on March 1, 2024.
- McDaniel became the 33rd Duke to reach the 1,000-point mark and is currently 22nd in the JMU record book with 1,215 points.Â
- Jamia Hazell achieved the feat in 2023-24 after a 13-point outing at Troy on Jan. 13. The Raleigh, N.C. native sits in 24th in program history with 1,187 points.
- Kseniia Kozlova is the next closest Duke to 1,000 career points, entering the season with 798 across her stops at JMU (754) and Middle Tennessee (44). With a scoring average of 11.1 points during her James Madison career, Kozlova is on pace to reach the milestone in 19 games.
