HARRISONBURG, Va. –
Peyton McDaniel (22 points, 13 rebounds) and
Annalicia Goodman (10 points, 11 rebounds) registered double-doubles to lead James Madison women's basketball past Coastal Carolina on Senior Day, 73-60, inside the Atlantic Union Bank Center on Saturday afternoon.
JMU (18-9, 10-4 SBC) outrebounded CCU (8-19, 2-12 SBC), 54-33, and made nine three-pointers to finish the season with a 12-3 home record. Twelve home victories are the most for the program since going 14-1 in the 2019-2020 season.
McDaniel's double-double was her fifth this season and sixth of her career, while 13 boards tied her career-high. Goodman's double-double effort was her first since the 2021-22 season and the third of her career. Redshirt junior

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter
- Coastal Carolina opened with a 6-2 run as the Dukes shot 0-of-6 through the first three minutes.
- JMU went into the media timeout with a 1-for-12 (.083) clip to trail 9-4.
- The Dukes held CCU scoreless for a 2:57 stretch, but the Chanticleer remained in the lead after one, 16-13.
Second Quarter
- James Madison responded early in the period with an 8-0 run, highlighted by triples from Ouderkirk and McDaniel as it took a 23-18 advantage at the 8:01 mark.
- Coastal Carolina cut the deficit to one (28-27) before the Dukes went on an 11-0 tear in a 2:39 stretch.
- CCU did not make a field goal for the final 4:55 as JMU went into the intermission ahead 39-29.
Third Quarter
- The Chanticleers opened the scoring before the Dukes answered with a 7-0 run to take a 15-point cushion (46-31) and force a Coastal Carolina timeout.
- JMU's advantage ballooned to 20 (56-36) at the media timeout, with McDaniel responsible for nine points in the frame.
- The Dukes cruised for a 61-42 lead heading into the final period.
Fourth Quarter
- Coastal Carolina trailed by 12 (64-52) halfway through the quarter but was held without a field goal for the final 3:21 as JMU earned a 70-63 home win.
- JMU did not score in the final 2:21.
- McDaniel hit a pair of three-pointers for six points.
GAME NOTES
- James Madison leads Coastal Carolina 3-1 in the all-time series.
- The Dukes held an advantage in bench points (30-5), points in the paint (28-22), second chance points (17-10) and fast break points (8-2).
- JMU won the rebounding battle for the 23rd time this season and grabbed 50-plus rebounds for the fifth time in Sun Belt Conference play.
- McDaniel reached 20 points for the eighth time this season and the 15th time in her career.
- Goodman's double-double was her first since the 2021-22 season when she finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds against Elon on Jan. 9, 2022.
- The double-doubles marked the first time James Madison has had multiple players achieve the feat in the same game since redshirt junior Kseniia Kozlova (21 points, 11 rebounds) and senior Hevynne Bristow (10 points, 10 rebounds) did so this season versus South Alabama on Feb. 7.
- The Dukes scored 26 points in the second quarter – the most points by the team in any second quarter this season.
- JMU's 19 assists are tied for the third-most by the program, with the season-high being a 23-assist outing versus Longwood on Nov. 15.
- Head Coach Sean O'Regan owns a 7-1 record on Senior Day while at the helm of the program.
