HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison lacrosse remains ranked No. 3 in the nation in the ILWomen/IWLCA Division I Poll, as announced on Monday.

This ranking comes after a pair of wins against Virginia Tech and then-No. 24 UConn, moving JMU to 3-0 on the season.Â

The Dukes were dominant on both sides of the ball in their 17-5 win over the Hokies on Wednesday. Senior
Isabella Peterson scored five goals and tallied seven draw controls while two other Dukes, graduate student
Kacey Knobloch and senior
Katelyn Morgan, each recorded hat tricks.

Lizzy Pirisino led the JMU defense with two ground balls and four caused turnovers followed by senior
Nicholle Marshall who secured a ground ball and caused two turnovers. Sophomore
Caitlin Boden had a career day in the cage allowing just five goals on 19 shots faced while making eight saves and securing two ground balls.

JMU came out victorious in a neutral-site head-to-head showdown with UConn on Saturday. Boden had another career day making a career-high 16 saves in the outing, with four coming in the last minute of play to secure the 15-14 win for the Dukes.

Three Dukes recorded hat tricks for the third consecutive game. Sophomore
Maddie Epke scored four goals, recorded an assist and tallied five draw controls. Peterson and senior
Taylor Marchetti also notched a hat trick while Peterson recorded seven draw controls. Redshirt-junior
Maggie Clark scored a goal and notched a career-high three assists.

Courtney Quirk secured four ground balls, a career-high, while Marchetti secured two and caused two turnovers. Senior
Alex Pirisino recorded three ground balls while four different Dukes each secured two ground balls and caused a turnover.

Additionally, JMU also remained ranked No. 4 in this week's USA Lacrosse Division I Women's Top 20.
The No. 3 Dukes return home to take on Towson on Thursday, Feb. 22 at 5 p.m. The matchup will be streamed on ESPN+.
