THE CHASE FOR THE SUN BELT
Following a dominant 81-64 win over Marshall on Saturday, the No. 2 seed James Madison men's basketball team earned an opportunity to face No.11 Texas State in the semifinal round of the Sun Belt Conference Men's Basketball Championship.
Tip-off is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET on Sunday night at the Pensacola Bay Center.
 SCOUTING THE BOBCATS
No. 11 Texas State took down No. 14 Old Dominion in the first round of the Sun Belt Championship, 92-83 in overtime on Tuesday. The Bobcats then upset No. 6 Southern Miss, 75-59 on Thursday, and No. 3 Troy, 74-68 on Saturday.
The Bobcats' improbable run to the semifinal round of the Sun Belt Championship is reminiscent of their tournament success last season. The 2022-23 team also overcame the odds to take three-straight wins before losing to eventual-champion Louisiana in the semifinal round.
JMU faced Texas State during the regular season, taking a decisive 82-65 decision at home on Dec. 30 in the conference opener.
In that game, T.J. Bickerstaff recorded his fourth double-double of the season with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Defensively, JMU forced 14 Texas State turnovers, which led to 16 fast break points. The Dukes led by as much as 27 and cruised for their program-record 13th consecutive win to open the 2023-24 season. Â
 DUKES SEEK REVENGE
The Dukes were bounced in the semifinal round of the Sun Belt Championship last season, as No. 8 seed South Alabama upset the fourth-seeded Dukes. The Dukes are seeking their first berth in a title game in 11 years.
JMU started the 2023-24 campaign on a 14-game win streak, and bookended the season by finishing on a 10-game win streak. The team has now won 11 games in a row.
The Dukes are the only NCAA Division I team with multiple winning streaks of 10 or more games this season. Indiana State had streaks of 10 and nine, but neither of those streaks are still active.
Saturday night's win saw five Dukes score in double figures for just the fifth time in the program's postseason history. Terrence Edwards Jr. had a game-high 18 points while distributing six assists and grabbing seven rebounds. T.J. Bickerstaff registered his 11th double-double of the season as well.Â
 WHAT'S AT STAKE
The Dukes look to continue their historic season and make its first appearance in the Sun Belt title game.
The winner of this game will face the winner of No. 1 App State and No. 4 Arkansas State in Monday's championship.
The Dukes and Bobcats are tied 1-1 in the all-time series, but this will be the first meeting between the teams outside of Harrisonburg.Â
JMU has won 11 straight games since Feb. 1, which is now the longest active win streak in the nation.
