Saturday, November 15, 2025
Kickoff: 3:30 PM
Harrisonburg, Va. | Bridgeforth Stadium
Saturday will be the 20th all-time meeting between the teams, as App State leads the series, 14-5.
Since becoming conference mates in 2022, the Mountaineers hold a 2-1 edge on the Dukes, which includes a 34-20 win in Boone a season ago.
App State is also 6-2 in games played in Harrisonburg.
The Dukes and Mountaineers have played 10 one-score games, including the first two SBC meetings in 2022 and 2023, which saw JMU rally from a 28-3 deficit in Boone in 2022 and App State winning an overtime thriller, 26-23, in Harrisonburg in 2023.
NATIONALLY RANKED IN BOTH MAJOR POLLS
JMU returned to the national rankings for the first time in nearly two years on Sunday, as it was #24 in the AP Top 25 and #25 in the US LBM Coaches Poll.
This comes on the heels of JMU winning its seventh straight after downing Marshall 35-23 in Huntington.
It's the first time since the Nov. 12, 2023, polls that JMU is ranked, as it was #18 by the media and #21 by the coaches that week.
Since joining the FBS, JMU has been ranked in the AP poll in three of four seasons and in the Coaches poll in two seasons. This marks the ninth week since 2022 that JMU has been #25 or better in one of the major polls, as it was in one in 2022 and seven in 2023.
JMU'S STRETCH RUN OF WINS
Since suffering its first and only loss back in week two, JMU has reeled off seven straight victories, all against Group of Six opponents.
Entering this week, JMU is 7-0 against Group of Six opponents and one of two to be unbeaten against fellow G6 squads, as Kennesaw State is 6-0.
JMU is 4-1 on the road this season, having now won four straight away from Harrisonburg.
JMU's seven-game win streak is tied for the fifth best in the FBS and tied for first among G6 teams.
HOW JMU STACKS UP IN THE FBS
Since joining the FBS ranks in 2022, JMU has won 36 of 46 games (.783).
That is tied for the 13th-most wins by any team in the nearly four seasons and tied for the third-most amongst Group of Six programs.
It's also the most wins by any SBC team, as Troy has 33 since the start of the 2022 season, while Coastal Carolina and Marshall each have 29.
WHAT'S NEXT FOR JMU?
JMU hosts its final regular-season home game and Senior Day on Saturday, Nov. 22 against Washington State.
Kickoff will either be at 1 p.m. or 2 p.m. and stream live on ESPN+.
This will be the inaugural meetings between JMU and Wazzu, and it will also be JMU's first time facing a Pac-12 opponent.
JMU has yet to face a team from the Pacific Time Zone until next week's matchup.
