MEN'S BASKETBALL TRAVELS TO BIG APPLE TO PLAY LIU SATURDAY
- James Madison men's basketball continues its 2025-26 campaign with a non-conference matchup at LIU on Saturday, Nov. 15, at 7 p.m.
- The Dukes sit at 2-2 on the season after falling to Longwood, 82-72, on the road on Wednesday, Nov. 12.
- LIU sits at 2-1 this season and is making its home regular-season debut after opening against Notre Dame, IU Indy, and Air Force on the road.
- The Sharks defeated IU Indy, 94-90, and Air Force, 76-72, and fell to Notre Dame, 89-67 to open the season.

- Longwood made 36 free throws to down James Madison men's basketball, 82-72, on Wednesday evening at the Joan Perry Brock Center.
- JMU (2-2) shot 46.6 percent from the floor, but Longwood (2-1) made 36 free throws in 42 attempts, while the Dukes made just 10 in 18 attempts.
- The 36 free throws for Longwood are the second-most for a JMU opponent in program history. Towson made 39 vs. the Dukes on March 8, 2014.
- The Dukes made more field goals (27-21) and three-pointers (8-4) than the Lancers.
- Bradley Douglas led all players with 22 points and seven assists. Cliff Davis scored 16 points and corralled six rebounds, while Eddie Ricks III tallied a career-best 12 rebounds while scoring nine points.

- James Madison got contributions up and down the roster, using a monstrous first half to roll to a 115-79 victory over LIU in non-conference men's basketball at the Atlantic Union Bank Center on Dec. 18, 2022.
- The Dukes (9-3) scored 22 straight points in the opening 10 minutes and shot 64.1% (25-39) from the floor in the opening period, bursting to a 65-23 advantage at the break and putting LIU (1-10) out of range early.
- Junior forward Julien Wooden led the way for JMU, scoring a career-high 18 points in just 13 minutes on 6-7 shooting and hitting both his three-pointers.
- Senior guard Vado Morse and graduate forward Alonzo Sule tallied 15 and 12, respectively, while sophomore guard Tyree Ihenacho scored 10 - his highest scoring output at JMU.
- Sophomore guard Terell Strickland returned from injury for his first action in 2022-23, controlling his 15 minutes with eight points, eight assists, five steals and two rebounds.
SERIES HISTORY VS. LIU
- JMU and LIU have met four times, most recently on Dec. 18, 2022 in Harrisonburg.
- The Dukes have won all four matchups and are 1-0 against the Sharks in Brooklyn - the last matchup taking place on Dec. 16, 2000, a 69-66 JMU win.
- The two teams met in the 2013 NCAA tournament - a First Four matchup in Dayton, Ohio. The Dukes won, 68-55, over then LIU Brooklyn, for its first NCAA tournament win in over 30 years at the time.
- The two teams also met in the 1999-00 and 2000-01 seasons as part of a home-and-home series, both JMU wins.
