DUKES OPEN FEAST WEEK WITH FIU MTE
- James Madison men's basketball heads to The Sunshine State for a pair of games on Monday, Nov. 24, and Tuesday, Nov. 25.
- JMU will play in Miami, Fla., on the campus of FIU, first against the host Panthers on 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 24. The Dukes will then play the Omaha Mavericks in a neutral-site matchup on Tuesday, Nov. 25 at 7 p.m.
- This will be JMU's fourth matchup against FIU and first since 2017. It will be the first matchup between the Dukes and Omaha.
- Following these two games, JMU will play at George Mason on Saturday, Nov. 29, in Fairfax, Va.

- Monday and Tuesday's games will stream on ESPN+ with Corey Brooks (PxP), Zach Letson (analyst), and and Sydney Jones (sideline).
- Dave Riggert will also provide coverage on WSVA 92.1 FM | 550 AM and the Varsity Network App, with coverage beginning 30 minutes prior to tip-off both nights.
LAST TIME OUT
- Bradley Douglas and Justin McBride combined for 43 points to help guide James Madison men's basketball past Towson, 81-75, on Tuesday, Nov. 18, at the Atlantic Union Bank Center.
- JMU (3-3) shot 56.5 percent (26-of-46) from the floor and made 12 threes, holding Towson to six threes and 42.6 percent shooting.
- The Tigers led by as many as nine in the second half, but the Dukes shot 60 percent (12-20) in the second half to come back for the win.
- Douglas finished with 22 points and led the Dukes with six assists. McBride collected a career-high 21 points on 8-of-12 shooting, while Eddie Ricks III tallied the third double-double of his career with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
- Cliff Davis pitched in with 14 points, including three 3-pointers in the second half, to spark a rally.
- For Towson, Tyler Tejada scored 21 points along with seven rebounds. Jack Doumbia Jr. added 15 points of his own, and Dylan Williamson recorded 11 points.
- The Dukes made 12 threes, eclipsing double-digit threes for the third time this season.
- Under Head Coach Preston Spradlin, JMU is now 10-1 when scoring 80 or more points.
SERIES HISTORIES
- JMU and FIU have met three times, with the Dukes taking all three matchups.
- The last meeting between JMU and FIU came in 2017 in Miami, a 76-67 win for the Dukes.
- Two of the three meetings have come in Miami, with the other taking place Nov. 22, 2009, an 81-68 JMU win. The Panthers lone trip to Harrisonburg, Va., came on Nov. 20, 2015, a 64-61 win for JMU.
- The Tuesday meeting between JMU and Omaha will be the first between the two programs.
LAST TIME VS. FIU
- Junior guard Stuckey Mosley scored 23 of his 28 points in the second half and James Madison pulled away late to pick up a 76-67 road win over FIU at the Barry University Health & Sports Center on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017.
- The Dukes (4-8) were strong on offense, shooting 45.1 percent (23-of-51) from the field and hitting eight of their 16 three-pointers, and disruptive on defense, forcing the Panthers (5-6) into 18 turnovers with the help of 10 steals.
SCOUTING FIU
- FIU enters this contest with an 2-2 record, with its two wins coming against Non-Division I opponents. The Panthers oepened the season with a 101-49 win over Florida National and most recently took down Fort Lauderdale 104-80 on Nov. 18.
- The Panthers have dropped a pair of road contests against power-four opponents: Nebraska (Nov. 8) and LSU (Nov. 13). The Cornhuskers defeated FIU 96-66 and the Tigers defeated FIU 98-81.
- In its two games against DI opponents, FIU is averaging 73.5 points per game but yielding 97 points per contest. In those games, FIU is shooting just 28.6 percent (14-49) from deep while opponents have shot 42.0 percent (21-50).
- The Panthers are led by Jeremy Ballard, who is in his eighth season at the helm. During his tenure, FIU has gone 100-126 (.442).
- Last season, FIU went 10-23. Ballard has failed to win more than 15 games since the 2019-20 season where his team went 19-13.
SCOUTING OMAHA
- The Omaha Mavericks out of the Summit League will match up for the first time Tuesday evening.
- The Mavericks are led by alum Chris Crutchfield, who is in his fifth season. He has a record of 48-57 (.457) during his time with Omaha, winning 22 last season and taking his team to the NCAA tournament, a first in the history of the program.
- The Mavericks are 2-4 this season after dropping four road contests to Murray State (85-77), Abilene Christian (73-71), Colorado State (97-74), and LSU (99-73).
- Omaha has won games over Southern Utah (90-85) and Concordia (96-80) in Omaha, Neb.
- Three Mavericks are averaging double figures through five games, led by Tony Osburn (17.2). Lance Waddles (16.3) is also averaging 10 or more points.
MCBRIDE SCORES CAREER-HIGH 21 POINTS AGAINST TOWSON
- Last time out against Towson, junior Justin McBride recorded a career-high 21 points, going 8-for-12 from the floor while also adding four rebounds.
- In six games, McBride has scored 10 or more points in five and is averaging 12.2 points per contest this season. He has also knocked down 50 percent (9-of-18) of his shots from behind the arc, including a career-high four against Akron on Nov. 3.
- Against Washington & Lee on Nov. 5, McBride hit 6-of-7 shots from the free throw line and finished with 12 points and eight rebounds.
- He also tallied 11 points, four rebounds, and four assists against Coppin State on Nov. 9.
