DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. –
Peyton McDaniel scored 28 points, connecting on 10-of-21 (.476) from the field and 5-of-11 (.455) from three to help push James Madison past Wisconsin, 69-50, on Saturday afternoon at the Ocean Center to conclude its time at the Daytona Beach Classic.

The Dukes (6-3) held a 30-10 advantage in points in the paint and limited the Badgers (6-3) to 18-of-62 (.290) from the floor for JMU's third straight win. Additionally, the victory is the program's third consecutive over Power 4 opponents, with wins over Virginia Tech (65-56 – Nov. 23), Boston College (73-53 – Nov. 28) and Wisconsin (69-50 – Nov. 29).

McDaniel registered her 33rd game with 20-plus points and her 13th with five or more triples.
Ashanti Barnes led all players with eight rebounds to go with 14 points.
Bree Robinson finished with 10 points and added four assists.

Zakiya Stephenson dished out seven assists, giving her 17 across the Dukes' two games at the Ocean Center.
Brianna McLeod supplied six points and a block off the bench, while
Delilah Soltys tied her career high of six rebounds.

For Wisconsin, Kyrah Daniels led the charge with 18 points, highlighted by hitting 4-of-10 (.400) from three. Destiny Howell and Breauna Ware each scored nine points in the loss.

How It Happened
First Quarter – JMU 18, UW 17
- McDaniel knocked down three triples for nine points as the Dukes trailed Wisconsin 14-13 at the opening media timeout.
- The Birdsboro, Pa. native finished with 12 points in the first, going 4-for-5 (.800) from behind the arc as the James Madison held an 18-17 edge after one.

Second Quarter – JMU 37, UW 23
- JMU's stingy defense limited the Badgers to 0-of-10 from the field, resulting in a Wisconsin timeout at the 5:36 mark with the Dukes in front 22-17.
- UW connected on just 3-for-19 (.158) from the field, while James Madison closed with a 13-4 run for the 14-point lead at the intermission.
- Barnes and Robinson both added six points in the period.

Third Quarter – JMU 60, UW 41
- Barnes continued her scoring ways, with eight points on 3-of-3 from the floor to help give James Madison a 52-32 lead at the 4:45 mark.
- Back-to-back buckets by Ware cut the deficit to 14 (54-40) with 1:37 to play, but the Dukes outscored the Badgers 6-1 down the stretch.

Fourth Quarter – JMU 69, UW 50
- Both teams combined for 2-of-15 (.133) from the floor as the Dukes held on with a 62-47 advantage with 4:22 left.
- A pair of treys from Daniels and a free throw from Howell made it a 12-point game (62-50) late in the frame, but McDaniel closed the game with her own 7-0 run in the final 2:55.

- James Madison also held an advantage in rebounds (47-38) and points off turnovers (14-4).
- Wisconsin recorded season lows in points (50) and field goals (18).
- Across JMU's two games at the Daytona Beach, McDaniel averaged 23.5 points and 6.5 rebounds, shooting 18-of-32 (.563) from the field and 7-of-13 (.538) from three.
- The victory was the program's first over a current Big Ten team by double figures since the Dukes defeated UCLA 77-67 at the Gulf Coast Showcase in Naples, Fla. on Nov. 29, 2013.
