How It Happened
Third Inning
FSU broke the scoreless tie with a trio of runs in the third. After a two-base error was followed by walk, putting two on with two outs, Drew Faurot hit a three-run homer into the left center gap for a 3-0 lead.
Â
Eighth Inning
The Seminoles added a second trio of runs, beginning the inning by loading the bases with the first three batters. Alex Lodise would step up, lining out to junior
Wyatt Peifer at shortstop, but an errant throw attempting to tag up the runner at second base allowed two runs to score and Gage Harrelson to go from first base to third base. A fielder's choice the next batter made it 6-0 as Harrelson slid home.
