Six Awarded ITA Scholar-Athlete Recognition, JMU Women’s Tennis Named All-Academic Team

PHOENIX, Az. – Six James Madison women's tennis student-athletes were named ITA Scholar-Athletes, and the program was honored as an All-Academic Team the 2024-25 academic year, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced.

Taking home Scholar-Athlete recognition were junior Hayley Glen, senior Elena Kraleva, senior Hope Moulin, junior Daria Munteanu, senior Ines Oliveira and senior Alexandra Prudente.

This is the 17th straight year at least one JMU women's tennis athlete was named an ITA Scholar-Athlete and beats last year's five awardees. To be eligible, a student-athlete must hold at least a 3.5 grade-point average in a given academic year.

On the team side, the Dukes registered a 3.414 team GPA for the 2024-25 year to achieve All-Academic Team status for the 13th consecutive year, dating back to 2013. It was also the fourth time Thomas produced an ITA All-Academic squad, with two at JMU and a pair at Omaha.

In order to be an academic team, programs must hold at least a combined 3.2 GPA during the academic year.
