HARRISONBURG, Va. – James Madison Director of Track & Field and Cross Country Delethea Quarles announced the program's outdoor track & field schedule, featuring eight meets prior to the NCAA postseason.
The Dukes will host their annual JMU Invitational on Saturday, April 11, while also competing regionally in five other meets in the Commonwealth, North Carolina, and Maryland.
The outdoor slate begins with three straight trips to North Carolina, starting with a season-opening trek to High Point, N.C., for the Bob Davidson Challenge on March 20-21. The following weekend, JMU heads to the Raleigh Relays, hosted by NC State on March 26-28. The month of April opens back at High Point for the VertKlasse Meeting on April 2-3.
Following JMU's home meet weekend, it stays in state, heading to Charlottesville for the Virginia Challenge on April 17-18.
The Penn Relays takes place at historic Franklin Field in Philadelphia on April 23-25, while the Dukes get one final tuneup prior to the postseason at the Kehoe Twilight Meet, hosted by Maryland in College Park, Md., on May 1.
JMU then treks to Mobile, Ala., for the Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Championship on May 14-16, hosted by South Alabama.
Qualifying individuals following the conference meet will advance to the NCAA East Region First Round, which takes place on May 27-30 in Lexington, Ky. The NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be held June 10-13 at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.
