Phoenix, Ariz. – Five James Madison men's tennis student-athletes were selected as ITA Scholar-Athletes, while the program was named an All-Academic Team for the 2025-26 academic year, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced.
Taking home ITA Scholar-Athlete honors were sophomore
Zach Fleishman, freshman
Grant Kroodsma, senior
Ryan Morgan, sophomore
Damian Sancilio and sophomore
Aurelien Schmitt.
In order to be honored, teams must hold a collective year grade-point average of at least 3.2, while individuals garnering a 3.5 GPA or higher for the year earn Scholar-Athlete recognition.
As a team, the Dukes produced a 3.507 team GPA between the fall and spring semesters, which is up from the 3.364 in 2024-25. It's the third straight year JMU has earned the distinction.
This is the third time Morgan has been recognized, taking the honor twice while at Virginia Tech, while Fleishman, Sancilio and Schmitt were awarded for the second straight year.
