In her first season in Harrisonburg, Coach DeMann helped lead the Dukes to a 14-6 (7-1 MAC) season that saw JMU tie for the regular-season title and finish runner-up at the conference tournament. Alice Roeper earned the Offensive MAC Player of the Year award as six Dukes earned all-conference honors, while Roeper, Skyler Brown and Cassidy Strittmatter all earned spots on the NFHCA All-South Region team.
Â
DeMann joined the staff after spending the past three seasons as an assistant coach at Bates College. This past season, she helped guide the No. 7 Bobcats to its first NCAA tournament appearance, advancing to the second round.
Â
The 2023 campaign saw Bates post a 9-0 home record, match the program record of 13 wins and win a program-best seven games against NESCAC competition, including the first win in a conference tournament game in team history.
Â
In addition to her work with field hockey, DeMann served as an assistant strength & condition coach, creating programs for other varsity teams, including women's soccer and men's and women's nordic programs.
