Morina compiled a 68-5-2 regular season record in two years at JMU in 1981 and 1982 before becoming a student assistant coach for the 1982-83 season. He was a two-time NCAA Eastern Regional champion, becoming the first Duke to win a regional title when he took the title at 158 pounds in 1981 and led Madison to a sixth-place team finish. He advanced to the NCAA Championships at 158 pounds in 1982, where he was 2-2 overall in the tournament. He also won the state title at 167 pounds in 1981. During his final season in 1982, he led Madison to a 16-2 dual match record, a third-place finish in the state championships and the Eastern Regionals, including finishing ahead of Virginia and Virginia Tech at the Regionals. In his career, he has been a highly successful high school coach in his hometown of Paulsboro, N.J., where he has coached for 27 years. Named the 1994 State Wrestling Man-of-the-Year by Wrestling USA Magazine, his teams have won 25 class state championships, 24 district championships and 25 conference titles. He has also coached 168 district champions, 75 regional champions and 13 state champions. In his 27 years, he has a 550-34-4 overall record while also serving as the school's principal.
