Jordan Talley joined the James Madison men’s basketball coaching staff as a graduate assistant prior to the 2020-21 season.
In his first season with the Dukes, Talley helped lead the Dukes to the CAA Regular Season championship just one year after JMU posted a 9-21 mark. The Dukes went 13-7, capturing their ninth regular season title and earning the program’s first No. 1 seed in the CAA Tournament since 1992-93.
Talley arrives in Harrisonburg after spending last season as an assistant coach at Tallahassee Community College, where he helped guide the Eagles to a 27-6 record and a 9-3 mark league play in 2019-20. He was a four-year letterwinner at Southeastern University, where he was a starter on the 2014 NAIA Final Four team and earned his degree in sports management, with minors in business and theology.
“Jordan is extremely experienced for a graduate assistant and will help us in many areas,” Head Coach Mark Byington said. “He has great energy and is a tremendous communicator. He’s going to be a full-time coach at the Division I level very soon.”
