Eric Evans II returned to James Madison in December 2019 after serving as the communications assistant in 2017-18 and will serve as the primary contact for cross country, field hockey, women's basketball and track & field.
Evans comes to JMU after serving a one-year stint at Troy University as a graduate assistant. At Troy, Evans was the primary contact for cross country, men’s basketball and outdoor track & field.
Additionally, Evans helped with football by assisting with social media efforts and feature stories for the gameday program. While at Troy, Evans constructed meet day, countdown and award graphics for cross country in addition to making hype videos for all primary sports.
Prior to Troy, Evans served as the athletics communications assistant at James Madison University with men’s soccer, cross country, baseball and track & field as his primary sports from 2017-18.
Evans also served as the secondary contact for men’s basketball where he handled gameday setup, statistics and managed student workers at home events. In his first stint at JMU, Evans helped with social media efforts around ESPN College Gameday and assisted with all home football TV productions including NCAA postseason games on ESPN networks.
Evans graduated Cum Laude from NC State University in May of 2017 after two years due to him attending an Early College High School. He is a Durham, N.C. native and currently resides in Harrisonburg.
