Jessica Wilk

Jessica Wilk, a member of three World Cup champion teams and currently an assistant coach for the U.S. Under-19 Team, joined the JMU coaching staff in August 2006.Â
Â
Wilk played on the 1993, 1997 and 2001 U.S. World Cup champion teams and the 2005 U.S. World Cup runner-up team. She was captain of the U.S. team in 1997, 2001 and 2005 and was a U.S. Team member from 1990-2005.Â
Â
The 1990 Maryland graduate was a member of the Terrapins' 1986 NCAA champion team and captain of the school's 1990 NCAA runner-up team. She was also a three-time All-America in field hockey and earned NCAA all-tournament honors as a member of Maryland's 1987 NCAA field hockey champion team.

Wilk also played on the U.S. Under-21 Team and U.S. Reserve Team in field hockey in the late 1980s.

She was voted to the Atlantic Coast Conference 50th anniversary team in the sports of field hockey and lacrosse, and in 2005 she was inducted into the University of Maryland Athletic Hall of Fame.

Wilk was formerly Virginia's head field hockey coach from 1999-2005. She guided the Cavaliers to three NCAA tournament appearances (1999, 2000, 2001) in field hockey, including the quarterfinals in 2001. Her career coaching record is 78-66.

Prior to assuming the head field hockey position at Virginia, Wilk served stints as an assistant lacrosse and field hockey coach at both Virginia (field hockey 1993-98, lacrosse 1996) and Maryland (1991-93).Â

During her tenure as an assistant field hockey coach at Virginia, the Cavaliers made four NCAA tournament appearances (1995, 1996, 1997, 1998) and advanced to the NCAA semifinals twice (1997, 1998). She was goalkeeper coach for the Cavaliers' lacrosse team, which played in the 1996 NCAA title game and produced the winner of the national goalkeeper of the year award. While Wilk was at Maryland the Terps won the 1992 national lacrosse title and the 1992 national field hockey championship.

Wilk is a native of Pittsburgh and a graduate of Ellis School.
