Courtney Klein is in her third season as an assistant coach at JMU. Courtney joined the Dukes from the University of Richmond, where she served as assistant coach for the previous three seasons. During two of the three seasons, she helped lead the Spiders to a first-place finish in the Atlantic 10 and guided four players to All-A-10 selection.
In addition to working at Richmond, Courtney served as the Assistant Head Tennis Professional at the Park Country Club in Williamsville, N.Y., as well as a tennis instructor at the Country Club of Buffalo and the Villiage Glen Tennis & Fitness Center.
Klein graduated cum laude from the University of Richmond's School of Business in 2005 where she was a four-year athlete for the Spiders' women's tennis team. The three time NCAA qualifier (2002, 2004 and 2005) was a first team All-Atlantic 10 singles member as a junior and senior and was named the team's captain as a junior and senior.
She received the Scholar Athlete Award and made the A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll while also serving as a representative on the Student-Athlete Leadership Council.
More recently, Klein earned her master's degree in exercise science with a concentration in Nutrition & Physical Activity from JMU in 2010.
