BERKELEY, Calif., Sept. 6, 2008 ? James Madison finished the Golden Bear Invitational with a pair of losses on Saturday, falling to UC Riverside 3-1 and DePaul 3-2 both in come-from-behind fashion, at the University of California's Haas Pavilion.

JMU (2-5) fell to UCR (5-3) by game scores of 19-25, 25-18, 25-23, and 25-20. The Dukes then lost to DePaul (1-4) 15-25, 20-25, 25-13, 25-23, and 15-10. JMU went 0-3 in the tournament, also losing to #5 California on Friday evening, 3-0.

Senior setter Lauren Miles (Tampa, Fla./Tampa Prep) was named to the All-Tournament team for the Dukes. Cal setter Carli Lloyd was named the Most Valuable Player and Outstanding Setter. Kristen Kathan was named the Defensive Standout. Other players listed as Tournament Standouts include Kelly Fink of UC Riverside, Jacie Fiedler of DePaul, and Hana Cutura, Mindi Wiley, and Morgan Beck from Cal.

Against UC Riverside, senior Kelsey McNamara (Northbrook, Ill./Glenside North) led the Dukes with 14 kills and seven digs. Senior Michelle Johnson (Los Gatos, Calif./Los Gatos) added a double-double with 11 kills and 10 digs. Miles also had a double-double with 40 assists and 11 digs. Freshman Holly Wall (Kaukauna, Wisc./Kaukauna) had 13 digs.

Riverside's Kelly Fink led all players with 16 kills and added 12 digs for the double-double. Brittney Murrey also had a double-double with 41 assists and 11 digs. Kimberly McNeal led all players with 16 digs.

Against DePaul, Miles again had a double-double with 41 assists, 10 digs, and seven kills. McNamara and sophomore Lindsay Callahan (Virginia Beach, Va./Landstown) each had 12 kills to pace the offense. Wall added eight kills and a match-high 19 digs while Johnson had eight kills and nine digs.

Kate Letcher led all players with 17 kills and six service aces. Sarah Cullen had a double-double with 11 kills and 12 digs while Jacie Fiedler added 12 kills. Christy Landschoot had a near triple-double with nine kills, 46 assists, and 12 digs.
