JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Mar. 10, 2009 ? The James Madison women's golf team dropped one spot to finish in 10th out of 15 teams at the inaugural JMU/Eagle Landing Invitational. The Dukes fired a 302 on Tuesday to go with rounds of 311 and 303 on Monday for a total of 916.

Leading the way for Madison was sophomore Kelly Lynch (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) who finished tied for 15th. Lynch carded a 75 on Tuesday and finished the tournament at 226 after shooting 76 and 75 on Monday.

Sophomore Laura Mesa (Manizales, Columbia/Colegio Granadino) and freshman Valentina Sanmiguel (Bogota, Columbia/Gimasio La Montana) tied for 37th after finishing with three-round totals of 230. Mesa carded rounds of 79, 77 and 74 for JMU while Sanmiguel shot 80, 77 and a team-low 73.

Freshman Nicole Sakamoto (Honolulu, Haw./Kalani) finished in 44th (78-74-80?232) and sophomore Catrin Gunnarsson (Bankeryd, Sweden/Sanda Gymnasiet) rounded out JMU's five-player team in a tie for 67th (78-84-80?242).

Chattanooga's Emma deGroot (72-71-69?212) was the only golfer to finish under par to win the individual championship. deGroot finished at 4-under-par to finish four shots ahead of Ana Maria Puche (71-74-71?216) of East Carolina. South Florida's Rachel Edwards (69-73-75?217) and ECU's Amber Littman (74-67-76?217) tied for fourth, one stroke ahead Chattanooga's Moa Duf (74-73-71?218), who finished in fifth.

Chattanooga won the team-tournament championship after carding a tournament-low 283 on Tuesday. The Mocs finished with a three-round total of 866 after shooting rounds of 291 and 292. East Carolina (298-294-287?879) finished in second, ahead of South Florida (296-296-297?889) in third, Kennesaw State (300-289-306?895) in fourth and Yale (306-299-303?908) rounding
