Scouting Report
- JMU enters the game with a 5-2 record, including a strong 5-1 mark at home, while Richmond is even at 3-3, despite being 0-3 away from their home court.
- This is the 53rd meeting between the two programs as the Spiders enter the game with a 32-20 advantage in a series dating back to the 1979-80 season. Madison has controlled its home court, sporting a 13-10 series mark in Harrisonburg against UR. Sunday's matchup is only the third since the Spiders left the CAA following the 2001 season.
- Last season, Richmond downed JMU 68-53 at the Robins Center in Richmond and edged the Dukes 83-82 at the Convo during the 2012-13 campaign.
- Last time out for the Dukes, Andre Nation had an ally-oop dunk with 2.3 seconds left to lift JMU past Campbell, 63-61, Tuesday night in the final game of the Buckeye Classic.
- He finished with a team-best 15 points as five Dukes finished in double figures, including the team's first double-double by Yohanny Dalembert, who produced 10 points and 10 rebounds. It was the fourth times this season JMU shot at least 50 percent, finishing at 51 percent from the floor.
- The Spiders ended a two-game skid on Wednesday at home, defeating CAA foe William and Mary, 68-67. Despite allowing W&M to shoot 58 percent and allow Marcus Thornton to score 37 points, UR were able to get to the free throw line, knocking down 20 from the stripe, and turning 18 Tribe turnovers into 27 points. Terry Allen and Kendall Anthony both led Richmond with 18 points apiece.
- JMU will take a short break for final exams and open up a two-game road trip on Saturday, Dec. 13 at East Carolina. The game tips off at 5 p.m. from Greenville, N.C. and will be on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app.
