Duke Club Week - What is the Duke Club?

While these words string together to form the guiding mission of JMU Athletics, we use these words to influence our daily work.
James Madison University, even though a public institution, receives no state funds for athletics. Through JMU Athletics' greater relationship with the University and community, revenue sources are generated by student fees, ticket sales, sponsorship revenue, game guarantees and private funding. This fundraising falls into the hands of the Duke Club.
As a Duke Club member, you are directly contributing to the educational opportunities for nearly 500 student-athletes. JMU student-athletes competition on the field contributes to the generation of pride, passion and national exposure for the University. Your support helps the Duke Club to serve as a catalyst for the emphasis of academic achievement and personal development.
While JMU Athletics strives towards competitive excellence, dollars are necessary for improvement of facilities, costs associated with travel and equipment and the recruitment of future Dukes. Support of the Duke Club also contributes to these funds.
Through this financial support, we serve as the key avenue for alumni, friends and fans to become a part of JMU Athletics' mission.
