Duke Club Week - Growing Membership - James Madison University Athletics

One of the great, incredible, awesome, amazing things about the Duke Club is it is truly a limitless organization. With no funding support directly from state funds, JMU Athletics relies on private philanthropy as a pillar for support. The Duke Club has no ceiling – no membership cap – no restrictions on fundraising. We are truly limitless. And, the more we raise, the larger and more substantial and sustainable our impact can be. Just think about all the restrictions we deal with in everyday life and in other organizations. With the Duke Club, we truly have an opportunity to have as large an impact as possible.

The truth is, though, we need your help. Growing our community is the easiest way to not only spread some #ProudAndTrue spirit, but have a lasting impact on our student-athletes. The JMU community is incredible – easily one of the most loyal, engaged and passionate fan bases in the country. And it is true what they say, the more the merrier!

This week, as we highlight not just the Duke Club, but our members – consider sharing with someone about getting involved. Invite them to a game or event. Encourage them to wear purple and be #ProudAndTrue. Tell them about how much you love being involved with JMU Athletics and the impact you get to have through the Duke Club.

Lastly, as we continue to grow as a university, we are seeing tremendous growth in our young alumni numbers. In an effort to have a seamless transition from student to alumni supporters, we integrated the Student Duke Club with a new program called DC25, which is specifically designed for students, fans and friends under the age of 26. This program provides exclusive benefits and membership in the Duke Club for only $25. DC25 offers us a tremendous opportunity to continue growing the culture of philanthropy and our next generation of supporters.
